You have searched me, LORD, and you know me. Psalm 139: 1 (NIV)

Our God is both transcendent and immanent, meaning He is far beyond and above the range of normal or physical human experiences. Yet, He still desires to form an incredibly close relationship with us.

The invitation to deeper and further intimacy with God is constant due to the omnipresence of Jesus. Every day, there is more to know of Him and more of your life that can be opened to His presence.

The majority of Psalm 139 has David speaking of the profoundly intimate relationship that God has with us from our inception on this earth. But through Paul's revelation we know that our relationship with God began before this time, He knew us and chose us before the foundation of this world (Ephesians 4:1).

One of the ways that we can get closer to reciprocating the intimacy that God has with us is by learning about the aspects of His divine nature and character through His Word. When we accept and walk in these truths' we receive personal revelation and intimacy with God grows organically.

Our response to drawing deeper in intimacy with the Father should also cause us to deeply love Him,

Deuteronomy 6:5 reads,

Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength.

Loving God builds our trust in Him and opens the doorways for safety and transparency in our relationship. Just like Adam and Eve walked in closeness and ashamedness with God in the Garden, are we willing to 'drop all inhibitions' and walk in a way that shows that our intimacy with God is trustworthy?

Being in intimacy with God will heighten your sensitivity to His constant revelation of Himself to you and you will become shaped and transformed to be more like Him.

God wants you to accept the invitation that He has extended to you for deeper intimacy.

Will you say yes to him today?

Charge - Read the remainder of Psalm 139: 1-18 and reflect on the way the writer documents the intimacy the Father has towards us. Ask God to open your spiritual eyes so that you'll be able to see and experience his intimacy towards you in your everyday moments and take intentional steps to draw close to the one who lovingly created you and desires you to regularly experience His closeness.
