Putting in the Work!

God is incredibly kind when dealing with the internal parts of our lives. In His love, He remains faithful to His work within us until it is complete (Phillipians 1:6).

Although God will always remain faithful to us. To make significant and notable progress towards wholeness will require your participation.

Why doing the work is necessary

Your healing accelerates when you remain surrendered to God's perfect will and plan for your healing process. You can do this by submitting to Him and following the instructions given to us through His written word.

So what exactly may this 'doing' look like?

1) Forgiving those who have offended you (Colossians 3:13)

2) Sharing and bringing to light those things that are necessary (Ephesians 5:13)

3) Seeking personal and professional help (Galatians 6:12)

4) Hearing God's voice and His will for you (John 10:27)

5) Being accountable to your church leadership (by remaining accountable to others you'll be covered in a way that upholds and supports you on your healing journey Hebrews 13:17)

6) By remaining prayerful through the process (1 Thessalonians 5:16-18)

Submitting and being obedient to your healing process isn't easy, it will take you doing things you've never done before which takes some courage. But it takes the new in order for something new to happen within you!

Daughter, God works powerfully through your obedience. Each step of intentional action you take towards yourself will end in results that are favourable to you. When you obey God, you will come to experience frequent breakthroughs in your life! The rebuilding and renewing of who you are will be fast-tracked, free from the unnecessary delays and hindrances that occur when we fail to act.

My experience

I urge you to be courageous when it comes to putting in the work because I've been there. God had done so much within me on my healing journey. But I still struggled with a tendency of holding on to things that were unhelpful to me.

God had to speak to me strongly in this area of my life, and He did so with a very simple but powerful lesson. I attended a prophetic training where the trainer was emphasising on the way that God can use anything to speak to us. A bag of random objects was passed around and we were asked to choose one, almost like a lucky dip. My turn came, and I picked up a peg. A peg? Really? After my initial bewilderment, God began to speak to me through this peg; I'll share what He said: 'Pegs hold on to things; the force coming from the spring will hold on to the object until you release it and let it go.'

In one moment, God's voice became a mirror to who I was. I needed to make an intentional decision to forgive and let go, so I did. Through an act of obedience, I became free in an area of my life that needed a breakthrough.

What might God be instructing you to do today?
