Will you let God in?

During her engagement with Jesus in John 4, the Samaritan woman was given a somewhat intruding command from Jesus that would shed light on her personal circumstances.

He told her, Go, call your husband and come back. v 16

I have no husband, she replied. Jesus said to her, You are right when you say you have no husband. The fact is, you have had five husbands, and the man you now have is not your husband. v 17-18

Instead of shutting Jesus out, the Samaritan Woman shared with Him a small detail that pertained to that area of her life. Little did she know that her small sharing would allow her to receive much more from Him!

Like the Samaritan woman, when we allow God in, we will come to realise that His light will go much further and deeper into our lives than we can imagine, illuminating and making clear who we are and where we are at any given point.

For the Samaritan woman this light was freeing. Through Jesus' insight she understood her life was seen by God. Her life would forever be changed through this understanding and through what Jesus would go on to share with her (v21-26).

What could allowing God into your life do for you?
